On Ramp is a one year training program aimed at transforming new college graduates into productive members of the CarGurus technical team.This position is for students who are graduating with their bachelors degree in spring of 2020. Engineers in the On Ramp program will receive one month of classroom training then transition to real-life projects with company-wide impact. For the duration of the program, engineers will get personalized mentoring and coaching, receive additional training, as well as have the opportunity to build a valuable network with peers. Upon completion of the program, engineers are invited to continue contributing to their project teams.
Teams:
Consumer Listings: Help shoppers find the car they’re looking for by improving their search experience. Run AB tests and make enhancements to the Search Results and Vehicle Description pages using ReactJS as well as the Java APIs which serve the data displayed on those pages.
Data & Analytics: Contribute to the foundational framework for the Data Science team. This includes building the infrastructure to allow the team to "publish" models into production, developing Python libraries to facilitate feature generation, and providing the data science team with product-based datasets to train their models.
Dealer Products: Enhance or create new product offerings for dealers to help their cars reach interested shoppers. Work to protect consumers and dealers from fraudulent listings. Build new interfaces between third party tools and resources to help the CarGurus Sales Team reach dealers and get their inventory on the site.
Emerging Products: Help build the next phase of CarGurus! Emerging Product focuses on transformative opportunities in the automotive space. These projects tend to have longer time horizons due to their challenging and exploratory nature. As such, an interest in rapid product experimentation and iteration is a core attribute for successful team members.
Foundations: Build new Java micro-services that are deployed in containers on AWS leveraging technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Solve problems related to code and data separation. Learn how to scale an application for production usage. Modernize and improve existing services to be more scalable and streamlined.
