The Research and Scientific Insights (RSI) team is conducting projects investigating how complex microbial communities interact with plants and improve plant health. We are seeking an intern to assist with both laboratory and greenhouse tasks, including the setup and takedown or processing of large projects throughout the summer. While most of your time will be spent in the lab, there will be opportunities to interact with scientists and professionals in other departments and to attend internal scientific talks and group meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with greenhouse experiments, including filling and weighing pots with soil, planting seeds, watering, and takedown at the end of the experiment
  • Harvesting plants and measuring their biomass
  • Processing plants from both the greenhouse and field experiments, including surface sterilizing and chopping plants, homogenizing tissue, extracting DNA
  • Label, organize, and keep track of processed plant samples

  • Interest in life sciences, especially plant biology and microbiology

 Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree candidates preferred

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
