The NOC Interns/Co-op sits within our growing Production Systems & Infrastructure Support division. Interns/Co-ops are exposed to cutting edge IT technologies in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. We are interested in meeting students who are passionate about IT, scripting and its’ critical role in business, society, and our daily lives.
Network Operations Center (NOC):

  • Monitoring and basic troubleshooting in an active production environment. Help the team monitor and troubleshoot issues with our client facing web site.
  • Ensure that entries in tickets are professional, accurate, clear and concise, and communicating professionally with customers in early stages of the notification and repair process
  • Provide support for the NOC manager and document changes during the weekly change control process
  • Provide proactive incident management for customer networks and services, including diagnosing, and resolving faults and providing regular updates to the internal process owner
  • Produce, maintain and update NOC documentation including contact and escalation lists, notification and mailing lists, scheduled reports and written procedures (SOPs)

Qualifications:

  • Working toward a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering
  • Available to work Full Time Summer/Fall 2018 Semester
  • Experience coding/scripting in one of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, or Perl (required)
  • Familiarity and exposure to Web, Networking, OS (Windows and Linux), Database, Firewall and VPN technologies
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage time well and meet multiple deadlines in a sometimes-hectic environment
  • Enthusiastic and driven to learn
  • A sense of humor
