Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-op - Robotics Testing - January 2022- June 2022
*This co-op will work onsite in Needham, MA

Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-op, Robotics Testing:
The candidate will play a key role in partnering with the engineering team on product/component testing, tracking product quality trends, data mining, testing protocol development and continuous product improvement support. This position is focused on consumer insights and understanding the user experience to develop “best in class” products.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports Quality during the product development phase with benchmark testing, and competitive product reviews.
Collaborates with Product Development, Engineering and CORE teams to work cross functionally.
Executes test plans, procedures, and/or actions to prevent/eliminate product and systemic quality problems.
Evaluate capability studies, control charts, and other statistical data.
Analyze customer field failures, participate in IHUT (in house user testing and testing (in house observation set up).
Participate in DFMEA’s (Design Failure mode effect analysis).
Maintain Design Qualification Test Plans at the component and product levels.
Develop test protocols for Verification and Validation.
Design and develop test fixtures using CAD and Machine shop tools.
Requirements:
Pursuing or completed BSME or technical discipline major; Master’s degree student or graduates preferred.
Data analysis, prior exposure to test procedures is a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of systematic work practices and control documentation methodologies.
Effectively communicate within the department.
Proficiency in the areas of statistical principles.
Excellent oral and written communication to create reports, write business correspondence, & develop procedures.
Analytical, problem solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively.
Clear thinker: accuracy based on best available information & communicating roadblocks clearly & concisely.
Experience with DOE and DOE analysis tools like Minitab.
Experience with CAD tools like SolidWorks or PTC Creo.
Experience with Matlab, Python desired but not required.
ASQ Experience with Certification desired but not required.
Six-Sigma desired but not required.
Positions available ASAP to December 2021 but be able to commit to working 6 months as an intern
