About the position
Candidates for this position will assist the Content and Production teams in editing, curating, and organizing content for our large community of book lovers. You'll work with us full time for about six months, January–July 2022.
Responsibilities include:
- Assembling featured deals content for the BookBub website and daily deals email
- Proofreading and copy editing daily BookBub featured deals emails and other book marketing content
- Writing and editing short book descriptions to market books featured on BookBub and Chirp
- Sorting and categorizing submissions from our author and publisher partners
- Helping BookBub editors choose and curate featured book selections
- Maintaining and updating BookBub's database of books, authors, and author recommendations
Who we’re looking for:
- You’re a currently enrolled undergraduate student
- You’re available to work full-time for six months in the first half of 2022 (typically January–July timeline)
- You have outstanding professional written and verbal communication skills
- You have excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
- You’re able to quickly adapt to new systems
- You’re excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment
- You have excellent copy editing and proofreading skills
- You’re enthusiastic about books
Remote work flexibility
Our team has where-you-work flexibility that allows you to choose a predominantly remote, in-office, or hybrid setup within Massachusetts, where our office is located, and certain other states. We’ll help each team member figure out the work set up that’s best for them, including WFH equipment or a dedicated desk space in our office. We value the health and safety of our people above all else, and our in-person work options will remain contingent on local safety guidelines and recommendations.
Our interviewing philosophy

Our typical process includes these types of experiences:
- A resume screen and introductory phone/video chat
- A take-home exercise where you’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate your proofreading and copywriting skills.
- Additional conversations with your potential future team members, the hiring manager, and People Operations
We personally review every application, and if we think there might be a fit, we’ll typically reach out via email within a couple weeks to start the conversation.
