Data Specialist Co-op: Spring 2022

The Quality - Continuous Improvement Team is seeking a self-driven student that will rise* to the challenge of improving the production process through empirical data. This individual will perform high level data mining and strategizing along with a small but rapidly growing team. They will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and identify pain points, implement solutions, and present project outcomes to stakeholders and leadership. The team will also prioritize the professional development of this individual and provide insight on how to attain the tools and network to achieve their long-term goals.
The successful candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work independently. They must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with department managers, supervisors, operators, and cross-functional engineering teams.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Work with Engineering and Management to pull data from multiple sources and present it in a consolidated built-out dashboard
- Build and develop flexible and scalable data dashboards
- Identify gaps in current data integrity and work with business system teams to improve collection methodology
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Basic understanding of lean data science principles (rates, yield, trends, etc)
- Currently pursuing a degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Ms. Project, Visio)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in groups and independently
- Ability to work 40-hours per week throughout the experience (January - May/June)
