In this role, you will be at the center of data-driven decision making and applied research for the company as we use the latest ML/DL and data science techniques to continuously optimize every aspect of the business, including inventory management, forecasting, acquisition target recommendation, keyword optimization, and a whole new category of decision management for day to day operations.

SOME OF THE DAY-TO-DAY MAY INCLUDE:

• Enabling business impact by researching and experimenting with industry-leading Data Science techniques
• Collaborating with your fellow data scientists, engineers, product managers and business stakeholders to build solutions
• Leverage best practices in data collection, processing, prototyping, deploying, and/or measuring impact
• Developing quantitative models, leveraging machine learning and advanced data analysis techniques
• Building data-driven decision making with our Thrasio business stakeholders and to enhance the experience of our external stakeholders
• Improving large-scale applied AI systems for sourcing and acquiring new e-commerce targets 
• Understanding product pricing elasticity models and optimizing sales and demand forecasts
• Researching Amazon black-box algorithm performance across our suite of products
• Executing experiments for marketing and creative to drive our advertising budget and targeting strategy
• Participating in team knowledge sharing sessions and learning about cutting-edge Data Science approaches and techniques 
• Contributing to presentations to business leaders that tell cohesive, logical stories using data and build a data-centric culture at Thrasio
• Identifying new research and engineering opportunities that could be game-changing for Thrasio

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE PARTY

• Working towards Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or technical equivalent
• Relevant internship experience in research, data science or engineering roles
• Proficient in Python and SQL or other programming languages
• Understanding of applied statistical methods and quantitative research
• Familiarity with fundamental ML techniques such as linear and logistic regression
• Energized to collaborate across the team and business with good communication skills
• Thrives in a transparent, agile and collaborative environment
• Energized to learn quickly and open to receiving and incorporating feedback
• Be really excited with the idea of building something new, for a business tackling e-commerce in an entirely different way

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT REQUIRED

• Working towards Master's Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Neuroscience, or Operations Research
• Machine Learning experience with supervised/unsupervised learning, recommendation systems, reinforcement learning, deep learning, or time series
• Experience with research in e-commerce or finance & acquisitions
• Familiarity with Amazon AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Plotly, and Kubernetes
