Overview:

InterSystems is the power behind some of the world’s most important applications. The Core Development Program (CDP) was created as a way to provide recent graduates the opportunity to experience multiple Software Development roles within our company before committing to a team long-term. With three distinct product lines, CDP hires complete projects within our IRIS, HealthShare and/or TrakCare Development teams.

The CDP will prepare you for successful integration into InterSystems' elite technical teams through structured training, personalized mentorship, and frequent collaboration with cross-functional groups. Immerse yourself in our technologies and find the team that is right for you!


Program Structure:

The CDP begins with an accelerated onboarding and training program spanning 2 weeks of intensive learning in our Products IRIS, HealthShare and TrakCare. Once training has ended, you will complete two 6-week long projects with two of the Software Development teams listed above. After finishing your projects, you will also complete 2 weeks of shadowing with our Product Support and Quality Development teams to increase your exposure and knowledge of our Software Development Life Cycle. Your final team placement will be reliant upon manager/mentor feedback, business needs, and your feedback.


Qualifications:

  • This role is intended for recent or soon to be graduates from a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program

  • Interdisciplinary academic work in Computer Science, Physics, Math, or STEM preferred

  • Proven prior coding experience in any language, including: Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, AngularJS, JSON, Python, or similar

  • Demonstrated initiative through academic excellence, extracurricular, or work experiences

  • Technical curiosity

  • Creativity towards complex technical challenges

  • Collaborative team mindset

  • Flexible demeanor in an ever-changing work environment

Choe came to InterSystems fresh out of school. With the help of company-provided educational resources and mentorship, she quickly found her footing. Today, she manages the development team for the EMR application, which creates better care processes for hospitals around the globe. In her role, she focuses on keeping her team in sync and clearing blockers so that devs can focus on building software with a real impact.

Tackling tech with real impact
Robinson leads the development team that’s in charge of the user interface of Intersystems’ HealthShare product. He and his team tackle a tough challenge: keeping a large enterprise product up to date and relevant by introducing updates and new tech — while keeping the legacy codebase running smoothly. The payoff for the hard work? Robinson’s team ultimately helps doctors and patients make more informed decisions.

Fried leads the product and development teams in building and maintaining a small but powerful portfolio of products. The team excels in making complicated technology as simple as possible for its customers, which is no easy feat. Upcoming projects include a cloud offering for InterSystems to provide products as a service and a new capability that will put machine learning into the hands of more developers.
Building great products is much more than building what people say they want. You have to understand the fundamental problem and how you can solve it better than anybody else.
