Job Description

Butterfly’s HR Team is seeking an expert-level Workday Administrator and hands-on Compensation Specialist to provide critical coverage and strategic execution during a parental leave. This role will own key annual processes and projects, ensuring seamless business continuity and compliance.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

Workday HRIS Administration: 

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert and administrator for Workday. 
  • Core HCM: Lead daily administration, including managing Business Processes (BPs), Security Groups, integrations, and reporting. Ensure data integrity, troubleshoot issues, and manage Position and Supervisory Organization changes.
  • Talent Optimization & Advanced Compensation: Oversee the administration and execution of the annual Performance Review and Calibration cycles as well as regular administration of job profiles, job grades, etc.
  • Integrations: Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Workday integrations with both internal enterprise systems and external third-party vendors.
  • System Integrity: Ensure proper configuration, maintenance, and documentation of Workday processes, providing end-user training and support as needed.

Total Rewards/Year-End Cycle Ownership: 

  • Own and execute the full annual Compensation Cycle, including complex data management for merit, bonus, and equity grants across all global employees. Act as the compensation partner for Recruiting and manage internal requests (promotions, adjustments). Coordinate annual compensation surveys (e.g., Mercer, Radford)

HR Compliance & Policy: 

  • Lead the review, revision, and launch of the 2026 Employee Handbook to ensure compliance with all federal and local employment laws. Maintain and update critical HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Strategic Project Lead: 

  • Manage the planning, deployment, and adoption of the new Organizational Goal Setting (OKR) framework, specifically leveraging the CultureAmp platform. Develop and deliver enablement resources for leaders and employees.
  • Ad-hoc special HR projects: Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the People function, as needed, ensuring continuity and forward progress during the leave period.
Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on Workday HRIS Administration and Total Rewards/Compensation.
  • Expert-level Workday skills across multiple modules (HCM, Talent, Comp, Benefits, Time/Absence) is required.
  • Proven experience owning a full Year-End Compensation Cycle for a multi-location or global company (managing bonus, equity, and merit).
  • Deep functional knowledge of HR compliance and labor laws necessary to manage a handbook update.
  • Strong project management skills, specifically with the ability to own and drive the OKR rollout independently.
  • High proficiency in data management and advanced spreadsheet functions.

Location

Butterfly offers a hybrid work model for most positions, with team members spending two or more days a week in the office. While flexibility is key, we value in-person connections that spark creativity and teamwork. Our offices are designed for collaboration, with comfortable workspaces, stocked kitchens, and opportunities to connect with peers.

This role is eligible to be remote based on the East Coast. 


Compensation 

This is a temporary position. The duration of the contract is: 9 months. Likely from November of 2025 - July of 2026. The pay rate for this position is around $70 an hour. 

For this role, we are only considering candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States and who do not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
