Sr. Benefits Specialist

As Senior Benefits Specialist, you will support ezCater’s benefits and wellness programs by assisting employees with enrollment and program-related matters, verifying all billing and invoice statements with internal data, and managing employee data auditing and required reporting. You will also support the Senior Payroll Specialist in the review of the bi-weekly payroll runs for completeness and accuracy.
What You’ll Do:
• Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, etc. and assist employees with related questions.
• Manage the ezCater Benefits email inbox, including handling all benefits (and on occasion payroll) related questions and requests.
• Initiate company-wide communications and create various educational content (e.g. presentations, internal Confluence pages, emails, etc.) to help employees obtain information and better understand ezCater’s benefits and other related incentive programs.
• Maintain benefits records systems and ensure employee changes are entered appropriately in Ultipro payroll system for payroll deductions.
• Verify benefit billing and invoice statements for completeness and accuracy with internal data prior to reimbursement by the Accounts Payable team.
• Review benefit cancellation and/or changes with employees to ensure qualifying standards are being met.
• Maintain and distribute roster of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan, and manage annual open enrollment communications and election processes.
• Assist in completing benefits plan reporting requirements (5500s, 401k reporting, audits, etc.), and prepare and maintain various employee reports and other requested reports as needed.
• Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
• Recommend new approaches to continually improve efficiency of the department.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local benefit laws and regulations.
You Have:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant position.
• Knowledge of employee benefit plans and applicable laws.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google products, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of HRIS platforms, Ultimate Software a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to build cross-departmental relationships with excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
• Comfort learning new tools to help optimize our tech platform.
• Thrives in fast paced, entrepreneurial environments with a willingness to jump in wherever needed and an appetite for change.
