Reporting to the Interim Chief People Officer, the Director of HR & Total Rewards will own all efforts, partnerships and systems under the benefits and rewards umbrella. This position will manage the HR team and also perform strategic and quantitative analyses to assist the Company in assessing its existing and potentially new benefits offerings.  This individual will develop into a key member of the Company’s People Operations team, able to lead various projects with little-to-no oversight.

This individual serving in this newly created and highly-visible role will be a key member of the Company’s People Operations team. In addition to owning HR efforts, this person will advise senior leaders on key benefits, compliance, and personnel situations.

This role will serve our hybrid workforce across the United States, with offices in Cambridge, Indiana, and Texas.

In This Role You Will:

  • Own and deliver a strategic and inclusive benefits and total rewards program that will help power our growth through attracting, motivating, and retaining an exceptional team
  • You’ll own a comprehensive portfolio of employee benefits and perks, drive benefits renewal process including overseeing the maintenance of carrier and vendor databases, designing training and education for new and existing employees, and leading our long-term benefits strategy
  • Streamline and operationalize leave administration
  • You’ll serve as the primary contact with all insurance carriers to manage billing/invoicing information in close partnership with Finance & Accounting team members.
  • You’ll manage relationship with our outside immigration counsel, serving as a central point of contact on immigration related matters
  • You’ll help answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations by acting as a liaison between employees and management
  • Oversee, in partnership with our benefits broker, the annual benefit plan renewal activities and the open enrollment process through managing the company’s communication approach and materials for employees
  • Develop organizational training and feedback sessions to ensure our people have the right level of understanding of our philosophies and programs, while allowing for the opportunity to provide input to our approach

You Are/Have

  • A self-starter with strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Able to own all HR and benefits operations for a growing and complex organization
  • Strong data analytical skills including proficiency in excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex HR situations to a wide variety of stakeholders, including developing and delivering compelling presentations on benefits offerings and compliance issues
  • Possess deep HR and benefits experience, ideally with experience managing a global workforce with a large non-exempt population
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, constantly moving environment with high growth potential (startup feel, without the startup anxiety)
  • Are well versed in HR best practices and ideally have a credential (SHRM, PHR, etc.) to signal your expertise
  • Previous experience managing others and growing a team
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, with an effective combination of business acumen, sound decision-making, and a bias for action; ability to act in a decisive, urgent and committed way to achieve results; remain focused on deliverables and leverage resources to reach goals
