About the job
While your day to day role will range from ensuring a great onboarding experience, maintaining our people related information to managing our benefits, you will also work alongside finance, payroll & IT operations to execute the implementation of improved people related processes across these responsibilities. You will administer benefits and bonus in our existing markets as well as developing compensation and benefits for future markets. You will be the go to touchpoint for the business for any troubleshooting related to onboarding, compensation including benefits and any other people related problems, You will be comfortable working in a business which is growing rapidly and excited by the opportunity to develop and improve our People Operations capabilities


  • Develop and maintain a world class remote onboarding experience that helps new employees hit the ground running
  • Support hiring activities for business units that do not have a dedicated recruiter
  • Maintain and improve our benefits package across multiple existing and future marketsWork with our benefit vendors to ensure great service for our employees, including integrations and Open Enrollment activities
  • Ensure adherence to required learning & development programmes Input into proposals for process improvements, expanded reporting capabilities and task automation through technology as Hopper scales in size and complexity
  • Build and maintain relationships with finance, payroll and IT operations to ensure solutions are developed cross functionally
  • Be the key touchpoint for our employees on any people related issues they are facing

Minimum qualifications & skills

  • 2+ years of experience working in People functions, ideally including experience working in People Operations 
  • Demonstrable experience improving & automating manual people processes
  • Knowledge of employment law matters and compliance management
  • Exceptional communication & collaboration skills, particularly with people who have different skill sets
  • Ability to adjust rapidly to changing demands and priorities
  • Results orientated, reliable and a ‘doer’
  • A highly curious individual with a growth mindset

  • Technology industry experience is an asset

Base Pay Range:
USD 35k - 50k

Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience

Today, Hopper is best known as a travel app. We're going to do about $1B in sales this year and weathered the COVID storm better than anyone expected. We just raised $170M from Goldman Sachs and Capital One, and inked a deal to be the exclusive travel provider for Capital One Travel.

We owe our success, in large part, to a proprietary suite of data-driven and risk-based financial services that we have developed that complement a customer's trip-purchasing experience. One example is Price Freeze, where our customers are able to purchase a financial option in the app to lock in any price that they see, on any item, for as short as 1 hour or as long as 21 days with Hopper taking the risk on the other side of the trade.
