Payroll and Benefits Manager

We’re looking for an experienced payroll and benefits professional who can manage the bi-weekly payroll, and the various benefits selection and enrollment processes. We are adding headcount and growing rapidly, so it is important that we use technology to establish and refine processes that add value to the employee experience. The successful candidate for this position will report directly to our Controller and play a critical role in building our greatest asset- our people!
What you’ll do:
Payroll
- Ensure payroll is processed and consistently delivered in an accurate, timely and compliant manner in (bi-weekly, multi-state).
- Audit / verify 3rd party processing of statutory reporting and compliance filing(s) to ensure accuracy, compliance and timeliness. This includes, weekly/monthly/quarterly payroll taxes, W2s and ACA filings.
- Develop payroll related policies and procedures that comply with federal/state laws.
- Provide assistance in developing/ensuring adherence to approved policies and procedures.
Benefits
- Partner with external benefit broker on annual benefits renewals and open enrollment processes and employee communications.
- Answer employee benefit questions and help solve their issues.
- Administer health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations; optimize technology to streamline this process.
HRIS:
- Work with the Chief People Officer to increase the organization’s use of the Ultimate Software platform solution to support departmental activities/initiatives.
- Develop, direct, and lead HR data and reporting strategy; design, develop and deliver mechanisms for reporting and analyses to provide senior leadership, Finance and HR with ongoing information and decision support.
Other - Human Resources:
- Assist in documenting new HR processes and forms to meet changing requirements; communicate changes, create training materials, and facilitate training as needed.
- Collaborate with HR and IT teams for employee onboarding and off-boarding across the company, to ensure a smooth new hire/departure experience.
You have:
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 7-10 years’ experience leading payroll for multi-state organization(s) of 500-1,000 employees
- Juggling ability: You’re comfortable with a high-volume list of varied tasks.
- Tech-savviness: We're completely tech-enabled, and you’ll need to quickly pick up our toolset and optimize our technology platform.
- An appetite for change: If something isn’t working, we fix it. And then we fix it again.
- Devotion to details: Our quality standard is the highest in the business.
- Friendliness: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
