Position Overview:

Aurora is seeking an experienced, highly energetic HR professional to support its Corporate Office in Cambridge, MA.  This person will support all HR activities at the site including HRIS, onboarding, Employee Relations, compensation and benefits, payroll, performance management and employee recognition.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide duties related to an HR Generalist and have knowledge in multiple disciplines to include but not limited to employee relations, employee engagement, employee orientation, compensation, benefits, performance review process, etc.

  • This person will be involved with the system at all levels.  First and foremost, they are responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of the human resource system (ADP Workforce Now) and will be expected to learn ERP.  Will serve a key and critical role as we look to mature our processes & analytical capabilities.

  • Work collaboratively with human resource team members to continually update, secure, and manage the system.  Ensures compliance with all Federal and State employment laws.  We currently operate in VA, WV, MA and MS.  Must be approachable - easy to talk to and put others at ease.  Must be strong in Employee Relations.

  • Generate reports, analysis and produce metrics that drive business decisions.

  • High level of integrity with the ability to protect and maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Supports activities, employee initiatives, and special projects.

  • Supports key aspects of affirmative action plan.

  • Reports to Corporate Human Resources and supports the site General Manager.

  • Ability to work independently yet sees others as partners and essential team members.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws is required

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).  Experience with HRIS is a must.  Knowledge of other systems related to general office processes i.e., ADP Workforce Now, SAP, SharePoint.

  • Must be able to appropriately, discretely and effectively handle and communicate sensitive information and have a strong understanding of confidentiality.

  • Must be able to perform analytical tasks and be highly detail-oriented and meticulous about ensuring information produced is accurate.

  • Must be able to apply effective time and self-management skills in a busy, highly demanding fast-paced environment and meet deadlines despite regular interruptions.

  • Excellent skills in communication (oral and written), including presentation, influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.  Ability to demonstrate professionalism when interacting with others.

  • Technology or Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder)

  • Education:  BS degree or higher in human resources or related discipline

  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an HR Generalist

  • Must be able to travel up to 10%

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift weight up to 10 lbs, travel between several office buildings, and sit in an office environment.
