HR Business Partner
The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a trusted business advisor to the departments at Workhuman. You will collaborate and advise employees on a range of critical business and organizational strategies, issues, and initiatives. As the Business Partner, you must demonstrate a strong business acumen as well as functional knowledge of all aspects of human resource management. You will serve as a resource supporting such areas as: employee engagement, talent planning, employee relations, compensation review, performance management, and development strategies to ensure that the organization can attract, develop and retain the breadth of talent necessary to drive business success.
You will also work with the broader HR team and help develop and implement HR initiatives and share best practices.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with management and employees through a highly consultative, collaborative, and active-problem solving approach
- Design and execute initiatives per business needs
- Provide coaching and partnering to business units
- Perform talent assessments; identification of high potential employees, succession planning, and ensuring appropriate talent development plans are in place to meet the business need
- Track and report on HR metrics as required
- Responsible for conducting focus groups, 1x1’s, surveys, and related activities that drive engagement throughout the organization
- Partner and ensure the organizational structure supports the strategic objectives of the business
- Work closely with multiple levels of Managers and executives to provide, advise and counsel on HR issues and Challenges.
- Partner with HR Director on a multitude of HR initiatives and company objectives
- Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations on employee relation issues
- Train new hires on HR programs/processes, best practices, and policies
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnerships to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Conduct full cycle onboarding of all new hires within designated business unit(s)
- Partner with recruiting on hiring strategy, as needed, to fill open positions within designated business unit(s)
- Provide organizational development ideologies, strategies, and models on business units’ org structure and workforce planning
- Manage/implement performance management processes within the organization, including employee training and coaching, personal development planning and talent management
- Actively participate in frequent team meetings of partnered business units
Required skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, advanced degree a plus
- 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources (with at least 2 being in an HR Business Partner role)
- Working knowledge of Organizational Development principles and models
- Strong understanding of organizational behavior and positive psychology
- Excellent project management skills, prioritization and creative problem solving
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies and practices
- Ability to provide innovative solutions to HR programs and products
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills along with the ability to balance being analytical and fact-based with being people-focused
- Highly collaborative and strong team player
- Strong business acumen; comfort and confidence working closely with leadership team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders
