Director Learning & Development
Looking for a creative and driven Director Learning & Development to launch and lead Toast’s learning, training and development efforts – further establishing our Learning and Growth culture. Overall responsibility for cultivating our L&D vision and creating/executing programs.
- Design and implement inspiring and innovative training and development experiences for our Employees and Leaders that are scalable across several geographies
- Manage all aspects of the training lifecycle, to include training needs assessments, development of new training programs, evaluations, marketing and communications of programs, budget and resource management, reporting and updating of development profiles, as well as vendor management
- Design innovative and engaging learning solutions that can be delivered in person, virtual and that employees/leaders can access on demand
- Partner with other functional organizations/leaders to evaluate existing learning management solutions for potential leverage and broader usage. Provide consultation for future development of organization specific as well as broader programs
- Partner with People & Culture team members to design and implement leadership, management development and high-potential program strategies that ensure we grow our leadership bench. Develop solutions for increasing leadership and managerial effectiveness in developing others, attracting and assessing talent, resource planning, and building effective teams/culture
- Determine appropriate curriculum for professional development that addresses performance gaps or skills needed to develop and grow within Toast. In partnership with the HR Business Partners and organization Leaders, support specific department initiatives from both a training and change planning perspective
- Integrate learning success measures into our business dashboards and leverage insights for continuous improvements
- Stay abreast of new trends and tools in employee development
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of L&D experience in a high growth, technical or start-up environment.
- Previous experience designing and delivering innovative and impact learning solutions
- Experience creating innovative and scalable on-boarding experiences
- Clear understanding of adult learning theory, principles of communication and training delivery methods
- Intellectual curiosity, a deep growth mindset, and the desire to constantly improve
- Excellent facilitation and communications skills across all levels
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional relationships and priorities
- Proven strategic agility, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment
- Exceptional collaboration and influence skills at all levels of the organization
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with both Start-ups and established Corporations
