Position Summary:

This is a high impact role overseeing management of the company’s broad-based compensation programs including global compensation strategy (United States and India) and oversight of the sales compensation function. This position reports to the Executive Director of Total Rewards and will manage a team of broad-based compensation and sales compensation professionals. This role is based in our Watertown, MA HQ.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
:65% [Primary Function] Global Compensation Strategy and Program Management

  • Design and manage global compensation programs including base salary structures, variable and short-term incentive plans.
    • Evaluate existing programs, strategies and philosophies in our United States and India locations to design scalable and functional global compensation programs.
    • Work with US and India HR counterparts to design global reward and recognition programs
    • Oversee administration of global programs through direct reports.
  • Manage the annual review process with focus on the merit, bonus and equity distribution.
    • Oversee manager trainings as created and administered by compensation team.
  • Provide advanced compensation consultation as needed to business leaders, Talent Acquisition Team and HR Business Partners regarding compensation packages and compensation strategy.
  • Regularly assess industry compensation practices and changing legal issues and regulation and communicate their potential impact on the business and make recommendations for change as needed.
    • Maintain understanding of applicable laws and regulations, including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, etc.
    • Develop policies or procedures in conjunction with Legal to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide support for due diligence and assist with integration for M&A activity as it relates to compensation


20% Sales Compensation

  • Oversee design and development of the sales incentive plans and programs.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of the sales incentive plans and processes and initiate changes to increase efficiency and reduce complexity.
  • Oversee, through direct reports. the administration of sales compensation programs and manager trainings.
  • Manage effective relationships with Sales Operations and Sales leadership teams to ensure effective sales compensation strategy is implemented throughout applicable business units.


15% Management Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selecting, hiring, and maintaining compensation team.
  • Provides coaching and feedback to direct reports.
  • Sets and monitors annual performance goals & objectives, including responsibility for performance appraisals.
  • Termination/disciplinary authority of direct reports, initiates or recommends personnel action.


Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 12+ years progressive experience in the compensation field; 3+ years management responsibility
  • CCP and/or GRP designation preferred
  • Experience managing annual compensation review process
  • Experience designing and implementing global compensation programs and implementing sales compensation/commission strategies


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate compensation strategies and concepts to the HR team, the business and the senior leadership team
  • Knowledge of global compensation regulations and practices (India specific knowledge preferred)
  • Knowledge/experience working in HRIS systems (Workday preferred)
  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills
  • Strong presentation skills and business acumen
