Culture and Operations Manager
Panorama Education is a fast-growing Boston startup focused on helping K-12 schools improve through the power of data. Our mission is to ensure that every student has great teachers, great schools, and a great education. We currently serve more than 7,500 schools around the world, and we have raised $32mm in funding from Spark Capital, Owl Ventures, YCombinator, Mark Zuckerberg, and others.
Our culture and operations manager plays a central role in crafting and evolving our organizational culture. As the individual responsible for our space, celebrations, org-wide meetings and office technology support, you’ll model collaboration and problem-solving and think creatively about how our structures and programs change as we grow. Partnering with teams across the organization, you’ll be a linchpin for a mission-driven technology company at an exciting time in its history.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Space, environment and office management:
- Obsess over space so that those working around you are 10x more productive (e.g., clutter-free, no burnt-out light bulbs, supplies organized)
- Respond to requests and manage office upkeep with positivity (e.g., greeting guests, unpacking deliveries, internet outages, printer jams, etc.)
- Handle the unexpected with resourcefulness and grace
- Make operations stronger by providing instructions and guidance so team members can problem-solve independently
- Event planning:
- Coordinate recurring, culture-building rituals like bi-weekly team meetings and Lunch & Learns
- Set vision, rally team members and execute four company-wide annual celebrations for 80-150 people
- Record and celebrate important milestones for the company and individuals (e.g., showcase photographs and news, choose SWAG for celebrations)
- Office technology:
- Ensure our tools, hardware and software are working effectively (complete daily checks, act as the resident expert, manage vendor relationship for help support)
- Partner with external IT consultant to train and support team members (respond to urgent needs and train colleagues so individuals can troubleshoot on their own)
- Maintain hardware inventory, forecast long-term needs, evaluate new options
You’re a great candidate if you:
- Enjoy “getting your hands dirty,” with a knack for trying out new tools and systems
- Love planning and hosting events to motivate, reward and celebrate values; have experience running large (50+ person) events
- Have experience maintaining work or living environments, ideally for large (50+) groups of people
- Worked in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments with a high volume of communications
- Are comfortable with Macs, Google Apps and the Google Suite
- Bring positive energy and sense of humor; you are flexible and love helping others
- Are curious and comfortable owning mistakes and learning from them
Panorama Education is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive company because we serve students, educators and families from tremendously diverse backgrounds and identities across the country; we’ve seen how our product and impact are strengthened the more we reflect that diversity. In addition, we have found (and we believe the research) that diverse teams are higher-performing, and we embrace the varied perspectives that our team members share with each other.
