Who We Are:

Boston-based company Piaggio Fast Forward Inc. (PFF) was founded in 2015 by the Piaggio Group (the Italian manufacturer that created the iconic Vespa scooter). We are on a mission to build technology products that move the way that people move. In order to bring products to market today, PFF is solving the problem of robotic interaction with people in dynamically changing environments. We’re innovators, neighbors and creators with a passion for local living and pushing the limits on urban transportation. We support a sustainable mobility ecology with healthy lifestyles and social connectivity available to all, regardless of age or abilities.

The Role:

We are looking for an innovative Graphic Designer with UI design experience who can create effective, engaging, and inspiring visual communication consistently across all of our consumer and business touchpoints.

This role oversees the creation and execution of graphic design solutions including imagery, user interface, motion graphics, infographics, and multimedia elements used for product development, corporate website, marketing, sales, logos, colorways, and other forms of communication. You will be taking the ownership of maintaining and updating company brand guidelines as well as contributing to design systems that encompass the overall vision and goals of the company.

You will champion the value of design within the team and across the company. We will rely on your eye for refinement, clarity and simplicity to use images, designs and graphics to communicate the positive impact of new interactions with intelligent machines, the intuitiveness of extremely complex technologies, and the value of changing behaviors and processes to integrate robots into everyday life. You will be the visual storyteller of the brand.

You will create visual content in support of PFF’s corporate voice for print, motion, UI, environmental, user manuals, quick start guides, and packaging. An ability to work efficiently with collaborators and execute designs based on a strategic direction is key. We value not only your creative eye, but also your approach to problem solving and critical thinking. This role reports to the Design Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with leadership and communications partners to create visual narrative and story of the PFF brands across media.
  • Help manage processes to ensure design deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Work with design counterparts to ensure continuity across initiatives, categories, and projects.
  • Prepare visual guidelines for company-wide creative assets.
  • Design and layout of graphics for user manuals, packaging, and printed collateral.
  • Assistance of C Levels for presentations for board meetings or major events.
  • Define and design visual language for consumer facing platform and business level software.
  • Support development team in creating visual assets like UI elements, infographics, presentations, design handoff and documentations.

What You Bring:

  • BFA/BA in Graphic Design or other relevant field preferred.
  • 2-4  years of graphic design experience in agency or in-house setting delivering high profile design for a company or companies with strong brand identity.
  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate insights into authentic narratives and visual storytelling.
  • Proficient understanding of current typography design with a passion for emerging design trends and visual culture.
  • Expert-level knowledge of current trends in art, music, entertainment, fashion, and other design influences.
  • Solid foundation in typography, layout, and general design.
  • Strong proficiency in illustration, color theory, layout, logo and iconography design.
  • Attention to detail when finalizing designs.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, etc.).
  • Strong visual design skills with proficiency in mobile/desktop UI, color, layout, iconography and typography.
  • Experience with interactive design software (Adobe XD, Figma, etc.).
  • Proven experience implementing visual design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative software development environment.
  • Ability to function independently and in a team environment. This role does not have direct reports.
  • Ability to work on several concurrent projects and manage time wisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment.
  • You will be asked to share a portfolio with the hiring team
  • Successful applicants will be asked to show proof that they can legally work in the U.S.
  • This is a hybrid role based out of our Boston HQ
