Reporting to the Director of Tax, the Tax Manager is responsible for supporting Mimecast’s worldwide tax function. This is an opportunity to work for a growing team in a fast paced, high growth environment. The Tax Manager is primarily responsible for preparation of the worldwide tax financial reporting (ASC 740) and management of global compliance. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with the ASC 740 tax provision process and income tax compliance within a public accounting firm and/or publicly traded multinational company. The Tax Manager will serve as a point person on special projects as assigned by the Director of Tax with the auditors and consultants, and as a point of coordination and integration with teams within the organization such as Global (Non-US) Controllers, Accounting, Finance, IT, legal, etc.

• Preparing the quarterly and annual tax provision and ensuring accurate and timely tax accounting disclosures, including working with external auditors to provide information to assist with their review or audit of the tax provision
• Develop and maintain tax processes ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance
• Reviewing the preparation of outsourced US Federal income tax filings, including extension and quarterly estimated payment calculation
• Perform research on various tax issues including US federal, state, and international tax
• Supporting federal and state tax audits by preparing responses and appropriate schedules
• Completing various analysis throughout the year to assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, including the calculation of intercompany entries
• Stay current with legislative tax changes and accounting pronouncements that may have an effect on the global tax exposure
• Develop and maintain relationships throughout the finance organization to increase understanding of the business
• Preparing ad hoc tax analyses, analytical support, and assistance with other special projects as needed

• 5+ years tax experience in public accounting and/or multi-national corporation
• Tax experience within the technology/SaaS industry (strongly preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation
• CPA/EA and/or MST strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740 accounting for income taxes
• Strong computer skills, e.g., excel, and ability to quickly adapt to new technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process oriented that can develop and hold to specific project plans and timelines
• A working knowledge of G/L systems, preferably NetSuite
