The Role:

This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to both develop strategy and drive project execution through to completion. The work and projects will vary and change over time with the Special Project Strategy Manager being engaged in the most mission critical initiatives within the Finance Department. This person will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the work (from strategy to execution to developing KPIs/ metrics to measure outcomes) and will be the point of contract for driving the work forward. While every project is unique, the person in this role will be tasked with systematizing our approach to ensure that we are learning as we grow.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyzing business challenges to understand the impact across various teams within Finance and Thrasio (both quantitative and qualitative analysis)
  • Framing challenges/ issues in a way that can be succinctly understood by an executive audience
  • Developing potential solutions, including creative alternatives, offering recommendations based on pros/ cons
  • Working with project management resources to build the plan for execution including resource plans and timelines with KPIs/ metrics to measure progress and success

What you bring to the party

  • 3+ years of experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm (or equivalent experience)
  • Deep Excel and PPT skills- including the ability to use data and insight to “tell the story”
  • A proven track-record of thriving in ambiguity and focusing on finding practical and pragmatic solutions that can be scaled
  • Organized with a high degree of attention to detail and proactive follow up
  • Experience and comfort working in a high-growth environment where there is a need to “connect the dots + see around the corner” and anticipate needs 6-18 months out
  • Low-ego – equally comfortable giving or receiving direction, leading or contributing as appropriate, driving conversations or supporting as necessary
  • High EQ – strong ability to "read the room" and adjust approach, tactics, and communication style as appropriate
  • High clock-speed - ability to rapidly get to an "80/20" answer, and comfort tailoring the approach as necessary given project timelines and objectives
  • Track record of overcoming political, behavioral, and systematic barriers to enable creativity, change, and business growth
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a keen sense for how best to work alongside, motivate, and partner with a cross functional team

Our office is about 15 miles southwest of Boston and is nestled between the commuter rail station, restaurants, town commons, and locally-owned shops.
