Staff Accountant

This is an outstanding opportunity for a skilled Accountant with strong analytical skills to join the Indigo team. The employee should be detailed oriented with strong organizational skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The employee must be able to handle cash transactions, book journal entries, month end accounting reconciliations, year-end audit prep, and general ledger analysis. This person will work well in a team environment and be able to look for ways to improve processes. In addition to the responsibilities listed, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to cross-train in other areas of the accounting department. This position will report to the US Controller.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct month over month and quarter over quarter variance analyses of P&L and Balance Sheet activities
  • Facilitate month end close meetings and manage close checklists
  • Record and reconcile bank activity for specific cash accounts, along with daily reporting on cash balances and receipts
  • Research and respond to cash receipt related inquiries from project teams
  • Timely and accurate delivery of global audit requests including quarterly US revenue testing and any consolidation related requests
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations and perform global review of certain important accounts
  • Actively participate in efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Document and develop the Policies, Processes, and Procedures manuals for the above stated operations
  • Cross-train for various internal roles within the department and provide back-up coverage for those roles as needed
  • Participate in strategic process improvement initiatives in Cash Management and Corporate Accounting
  • Help maintain and continually improve system architecture to ensure it is designed efficiently, and with the underlying integrity and scalability necessary to support the organization well into the future

  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with people at all levels within and outside the department
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and achieve in-depth understanding of complex processes and systems
  • Must have strong communication, presentation (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide variety of audiences
  • Must be detail and customer service oriented

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, required
  • Demonstrated cash and trade operations experience & knowledge, preferred
  • Knowledge of other business functions, preferred
  • CPA certification or plan to obtain in the future, preferred
  • Oracle or similar ERP experience, preferred
