We are looking to build our bench of accounting professionals to add depth to our Finance team. Our department translates transactional information into usable data, establishes controls, facilitates external audits, and prepares reports of financial information for internal and external use. We’re looking for people committed to managing PillPack’s financial health, while navigating through the typical challenges of a rapidly growing start-up. To be successful here, you’ll need to be entrepreneurial about taking initiative, but structured about details and deadlines. You’ll also need to be a good communicator of financial information to non-finance professionals.

As a Staff Accountant, you will own the day-to-day transactional accounting for the company and ensure it is accurate and concise. This position is for someone who enjoys getting deeper into details to solve any and all accounting issues when a balance just doesn’t add up and doesn't mind researching accounting principles to determine the right way to record a transaction. This role will challenge you to fully understand our all of our operations systems and implement the required tools needed to make our accounting department run more efficiently.

What will you work on every day?

  • Owning balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepaids, receivables
  • Maintaining the company’s leases and schedules of deferred rent
  • Maintaining the company’s fixed asset tracking systems
  • Refining inventory tracking systems and helping to implement cycle counts
  • Implementing accounting tools to make tracking assets and reconciling accounts more efficient
  • Researching accounting principles and pronouncements to assess how unusual transactions should be recorded
  • Helping to implement internal controls across the organization

What skills/experience do I need in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy required, 1-2 years of work experience at a public accounting firm preferred
  • CPA and/or public audit background is a plus
  • Incredibly detail-oriented
  • Collaborative team player, while also capable of doing self-directed / self-initiated work
  • Proficiency with Excel
