Job Summary

 

Position summary –The Enterprise BU Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide support to the Security & Biometrics line of business, one of the core growth plays for the division.  The SFA will support in the management of the LOB’s P&L (multi-year, annual plan, quarterly reforecasts).  This role will assist the Division CFO with enhancing the reporting integrity of this line of business and to better our understanding of the cloud business potential for this LOB given the beginnings of a cloud pivot (hosting economics and pricing, deal support, growth metrics, KPIs.)  This also involves working cross-divisionally to support financial planning and analysis activities required for other general Enterprise functions (COGS, R&D, Division Marketing).  Ad hoc duties include working on Quarterly Business Reviews, helping with report pulls, reconciliation of heads and participating in monthly close process.  We are looking for a team player that is willing to roll up their sleeves, eager to learn and grow, and comfortable dealing with changes.  This position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail with accountability to deadlines.  This position will report to the Division CFO and will work collaboratively with the other BU Finance team members. 

 

Principal duties and responsibilities –

1. Develop strong cadence on bookings forecasts and actuals, including their relation to cost, revenue, and general P&L impacts; conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis to ensure expenses are planned and justified; analyze plans and forecasts to identify risks and opportunities to the projection
2.Manage monthly and quarterly close; analyze accounting activity to confirm accuracy (including accruals, deferrals, FX treatment, etc.).
3.Partner with BU Ops and accounting teams to identify and solve root causes of financial and operational issues
4.Prepare financial reporting to business partners & internal finance functions on a monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis, ensuring strong knowledge of natural account logistics and system rollup dependencies
5.Partner with functional leaders to develop fiscal year budget and quarterly forecasts, while considering inter-quarter updates and the impact on profitability
6.Review PO approvals as needed, ensuring proposed spend is in line with forecast and budget expectations
7.General support for any ad hoc requests or projects on an as-needed basis

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications 

Education: BS

Minimum years of work experience: 4+

Required skills:
Business and financial planning related experience
Ability to process and analyze complex data
Oracle/Hyperion/Essbase experience and proficient in Excel

Preferred skills:
Comfortable wearing multiple hats, ranging from leading finance discussions to working with data to provide thoughtful analysis
Self directed, self motivated and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding
Must be able to listen and interpret the requirements of internal clients, plan accordingly and meet or exceed expectations
Exemplifies initiative, intelligence, integrity and strives for continuous improvement
Strong written, presentation and verbal skills
