This role will act as the finance business partner to the Indigo Technology leadership team. This person will partner with leaders throughout the Tech organization to support strategic decision analysis, effectively operationalize resource allocation choices, and thought partner on various projects in support of new feature development across each of our product offerings. This is a newly created role, building on elements of work previously executed by Finance and others managed internally by the Technology team. This role will have high visibility to Indigo’s CDO (i.e., CTO) and ultimately allow for a successful individual to grow and expand.

This Senior Analyst will develop their business partnering skills through collaboration across a variety of functions including Tech, FP&A, Accounting, Financial Reporting, and People – among others. This individual will have the opportunity to refine their financial expertise through the creation and maintenance of investment allocation proposals (e.g., budgets, long-range forecasts, ad-hoc deal / other decision support); they will also have the opportunity to build new tools to facilitate prioritization discussions among Tech and Finance leadership. This person will become the Finance expert on Indigo’s Technology organization & operations and be a key enabler to others in the Finance organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with leaders across the Software Engineering, Product Management, UX, Data Platform, Remote Sensing, Field Data Science and IT organizations to manage team operations that are consistent with Indigo’s strategic objectives
  • Develop, refine, and introduce financial reporting/visualization tools as a means to influence leadership decisions with sound financial judgment
  • Lead all annual budgeting, forecasting (short & long-term), and ad-hoc financial modeling for the Tech organization
  • Proactively engage with Tech teams to facilitate investment trade-off discussions
  • Provide regular variance analysis updates to Technology leaders; work with leaders to develop strategies to generate savings or propose new investments
  • Enhance the process by which we continuously track resource allocation (in support of executive discussions regarding workstream prioritization)
  • Partner with FP&A leads for each of Indigo’s Offers to ensure roadmap alignment between Technology and Business teams
  • Be the Tech subject matter expert within the Finance organization; lead the response to various Tech related inquires from the CFO and his direct reports

  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables, compound formulas, VLOOKUP functions, etc.), as well as proficiency in PowerPoint, and Word

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
  • Approximately three years of FP&A or related business experience
  • Experience with financial planning/analytics
  • Must have strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Must have the ability to partner with individuals at varying levels within the organization

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
