About the Role:   

We are looking to hire our first Senior Revenue Accountant who will be a critical member of our growing finance organization. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in technical accounting, specifically revenue recognition and be able to work effectively with our growing sales organization. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Drive and manage the accounting process for all revenue related transactions including deferred revenue, sales commissions, channel partner commissions, deferred commissions, COGS, accounts receivable, bad debts, and accrued expenses.  
  • Evaluate customer contracts to ensure they are compliant with internal policies, US GAAP/ IFRS, and ASC 606 policies. 
  • Manage the order to cash customer cycle including invoicing on customer contracts, collections of payments from customers, and processing of commission payments to salespeople.  
  • Build and maintain processes and procedures for revenue recognition and expense accounting.  
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Product teams to establish proper revenue recognition on all new products roll outs.  
  • Drive the monthly close process, cost of goods sold transactions, and commission ledgers.  
  • Prepare revenue, expense, and balance sheet journal entries and account reconciliations within a rigorous close deadline.  

Qualifications:  

  • BS in Finance or Accounting or MBA; 4+ years of accounting experience. 
  • Experience working as an in-house accountant in a revenue generation role. 
  • Advanced level in MS Excel skills. Ability to design, create, and report on complex financial transactions. 
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP / IFRS and ASC 606 policies.  
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting systems, like QuickBooks Online; knowledge of contract revenue software like SaaS Optics is a plus.  
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels and departments within the company.  
  • Experience working in a high pace, high growth organization is a plus.
