Toast is looking for a highly-motivated leader to lead the revenue recognition function for all the products and services. Ideal candidate possesses a broad understanding of enterprise SaaS and hardware revenue. The candidate will ensure implementation of systems and controls necessary to report revenue accurately and on a timely basis. The role will be highly collaborative with other key functions including business operations, billing, finance, business systems and sales teams. The candidate will develop a strong team which focuses on process improvement, technology enhancement and technical accounting expertise and scale in a fast past environment with hyper growth.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Manage revenue recognition for Toast for all lines of business including SaaS, hardware, services and FinTech
- Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with applicable guidance and ensure consensus with external auditors
- Partner with business systems, billing, finance & auditors on on process improvements and technology enhancements
- Ensure accurate and timely implementation of RevPro revenue recognition system
- Review analyses, reconciliations and revenue related schedules on a monthly basis
- Establish and maintain accounting controls and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements including SOX
- Develop and manage a high performing team of revenue accountants and scale with growth
- Partner with Deal Desk to provide input on non standard transactions
- Serve as a point of escalation for exception requests from the business (sales for deals and product marketing for new products)
- Support integration of revenue recognition upon acquisitions
- Manage preparation of schedules and reconciliations necessary on a quarterly and annual basis for external auditors
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Bachelor degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 14-16 years relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606
- Proficient in RevPro revenue recognition tool
- Fintech experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
