The Opportunity
As the Rating Agency Strategist, you will work in a fast paced, innovative, and collaborative environment dealing with all aspects of the Rating Agencies framework. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a team that will implement a comprehensive framework to analyze actual and projected Insurance Financial Strength Ratings (IFS) from all major Rating Agencies, using new technology / automation and advanced analytical / modeling techniques.
The Team
The Rating Agency Strategist reports to the Head of Rating Agency Relations and Transaction Analysis, and is a part of a dynamic Treasury organization that includes individuals with diverse backgrounds and a mix of expertise including accounting, credit ratings and risk management that have the ability to communicate effectively, working and influencing across the organization.
The Impact:
Viewed as a subject matter expert in the finance field, the Rating Agency Strategist will conduct and document complex analysis projects including financial and forecasting models, and will routinely present findings and make recommendations to management that result in significant business impact.
The Minimum Qualifications
BS in accounting, actuarial science, finance, or a related field
Strong record of progressively responsible experience in rating agency relations, financial planning, actuarial, or risk management
Knowledge and experience in rating agency methodologies and financial projections
Knowledge of capital frameworks and statutory and GAAP accounting
4+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis or enterprise risk management roles
The Ideal Qualifications
6-10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis or enterprise risk management roles, preferably at an insurance company
Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change
Ability to proactively take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
Experience working in a Finance transformational setting; driving change and managing competing priorities
Ability to perform independent research and prepare analyses of the impact of rating agency methodology changes, regulatory/accounting changes, and transactions
Detail-oriented with demonstrated oral and written communication skills
