Payroll & Benefits Manager
We are looking for someone to run the nuts and bolts of our payroll and benefits administration here at Drift. Are you super diligent and love digging into the details?
What you will be doing on the Finance team at Drift:
Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll for 170 US employees (and growing!)
Own benefits at Drift - we need someone to be the employee resource for all benefits administration questions
Support and maintain our HRIS and payroll systems through day-to-day data entry of employee changes including new hires, terminations, salary changes, job title changes, etc.
Administer benefits side of our HRIS system, approving employee benefit transactions throughout the year and during open enrollment; update employee records in any relevant third-party carrier systems; ensure accurate benefits deductions and payroll-related changes
Become the administrator on Maxwell Health to maintain and monitor elected benefits with payroll and carriers for data integrity and timeliness
Respond to employee inquiries regarding earnings, deductions, calculations, withholdings, etc.
Key stakeholder in the evaluation and selection of payroll/benefits/HRIS systems
Being the owner and employee resource for all Equity Administration within Carta
Own and manage PTO for all employees
Coordinate and potentially complete required reports, audits, filings for payroll and benefits
Reconcile and track benefits premiums/plan expenses and invoice payments; support year-end and quarterly payroll audits; respond to auditing and regulatory authorities.
Process 401k funding files
Assist with processing claims for workers' compensation, disability and leave administration
Respond to unemployment claims; handle verification of employment requests
Oversee the maintenance of confidential employee files and records
Process COBRA notices and any applicable transfer of information
About you and what type of skills you’ll need:
Desired experience: 3-5 years in processing payroll and/or benefits administration for a growing and fast-paced company
Comfortable being sole person in payroll
Benefits Administration experience
Understanding of FMLA, workers comp and benefits
Multi-state and multi-site experience is preferred
Payroll/Benefits Certification a plus
