We are seeking a Manager of Indirect Tax to join our Accounting and Finance team and help support tax return compliance. As a vital member of the team, you’ll be called upon to develop processes and controls, to help ensure sales and use tax, VAT, and GST/HST compliance at the local, state and international level.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Lead the global indirect tax compliance process, including US sales & use, Canadian GST/HST and VAT in 10+ countries
• Work with external service providers to file returns on time, and maintaining tax registrations
• Review tax registration requirements and as needed, register for indirect taxes with the applicable authority
• Manage indirect tax audits, refund filings and coordinate responses to various tax authorities
• Work with external advisors on VAT/GST implications and communicate to the broader team as needed
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and controls and support the organization as it scales
• Reconcile the company’s tax system to book and payments historically as well as on a go forward basis
• Maintain the company’s tax system and ensure tax codes are up to date

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of indirect tax experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with managing the audit process both US and international
• Strong communication and ability to influence
• Experience interacting effectively with external service providers
• Experience with Shopify/Stripe/Avalara, a plus
• CPA Preferred
