The Pricing team at Klaviyo has a unique opportunity to shape the growth trajectory by defining the monetization strategy for Klaviyo. We are rapidly expanding into new products, new markets, new customer segments and the Pricing team will be playing a fundamental role in shaping the monetization strategy for Klaviyo in all these new growth areas. As part of the pricing team, you will work closely with the product, sales, marketing, finance and customer success teams to drive tangible results and have a big impact on the ARR and bottom line for Klaviyo. This position will report directly to the VP of Pricing in the Marketing organization.
About the role
As the Director of Pricing Strategy, you’ll be responsible for defining pricing and packaging strategy for Klaviyo’s expanding product portfolio, working closely with a cross-functional team across Product, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Legal and Customer Success. You will roll out pricing strategies, track success, make course corrections and continuously improve.
How you’ll have an impact
- Work with product management, marketing, sales, finance and customer success teams to define pricing and packaging strategy for Klaviyo’s products
- Gather market insights to inform pricing and packaging decisions including quantitative & qualitative pricing/customer research such as conjoint studies, economic value analysis, competitive benchmarking and customer value perception interviews
- Monitor market trends and changing preferences around customer elasticity, competition, and broader market factors and shape the go-to-market pricing strategy
- Define product metering, license entitlement, and compliance policy and drive all associated business and product requirements
- Implement continuous pricing optimization plan by defining, tracking and measuring pricing KPIs, defining actionable decision insights on pricing performance.
- Identify new pricing/packaging opportunities to simplify sales motion, drive growth and increase platform penetration
What we’re looking for
- 15+ years of experience in technology industry and/or 6+ years in Management consulting across strategic planning, pricing, and/or product strategy and management with specific experience in packaging and pricing for software businesses
- Experience with analyzing large data sets and synthesizing insights, financial modeling, building presentations
- Experience running pricing research including conjoint and other direct pricing studies
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and decision making on pricing proposals
- Strong understanding of value-based pricing theories and analytical methodologies
- MBA degree strongly preferred
