The Director of Financial Systems will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and will manage the group supporting key Accounting and Finance software at TripAdvisor, primarily Workday Financials. This person will be responsible for managing the overall relationship with the global senior leadership of the various accounting groups - helping design solutions, prioritize initiatives, and assign and manage resources from TripAdvisor and/or outside consultants. This person will manage the overall roadmap and balance daily support with project work, meeting the needs of a diverse and global customer group. Ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time and with a high degree of quality is a critical part of the role. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the key point of contact between the systems team and the users of Workday Financials
  • Manage relationships with executives inside and outside of Finance
  • Participate in managing vendor relationships with Workday and other key partners
  • Define the roadmap for financial systems at TripAdvisor with input from functional leadership
  • Manage the team in configuring and deploying of new modules / functionality in Workday
  • Manage projects to enhance the current Workday implementation for a global and diverse suite of TripAdvisor Media Group businesses
  • Manage initiatives that integrate Workday with other systems (Hyperion, Oracle, Salesforce, etc)
  • Evaluate, communicate and coordinate the technical impacts of Workday configuration decisions
  • Ensure users are educated by the team on the use and features of Workday
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status and escalate concerns to management
  • Negotiate contracts and manage external consulting firms
  • Identify opportunities to alter business processes to increase the overall value of Workday

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years relevant experience supporting financial systems, specifically a cloud-based Financial ERP (Workday experience a plus). 
  • Experience implementing systems in a consulting role a plus.
  • Deep understanding of functional accounting processes and practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with all levels within the organization.

Experience in establishing systems strategy/vision for core company processes

  • Proven ability and success in leading challenging technical, custom and package financial software implementation projects on a global level
  • Superior detail orientation, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Thrive on simultaneously managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent program management skills
  • Proven success in effective people management
