Associate Director, Business Strategy
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring an Associate Director of Business Strategy to plan and execute our customer-driven marketing events across the Merchandising team in Boston, MA. This leader will own the business growth strategy, campaign P&L delivery, and continuously assess assortment, merchandising, customer offers and marketing to deliver an unparalleled customer experience. This leader must think big to create customer-first events and programs across assortment, promotions, site merchandising, marketing and product development. This role must operate at depth while driving cross-functional delivery in a fast-pace environment so clear and effective leadership is critical.
What you'll do:
- Create annual integrated marketing plan for Merchandising that span business units, channels and customer segments
- Own the market research agenda to understand macro trends and garner key customer insights that impact business goals and customer event planning
- Lead in-event execution cross-functionally across merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and product and tech teams
- Drive the product assortment strategy to maximize sales and new customer acquisition
- Move swiftly to problem solve with vendors and internal teams to remove any barriers to growth
- Work cross functionally with Merchandise Operations, IT, Marketing, and Supply Chain to elevate the customer experience and drive business performance improvement
- Generate new business opportunities and merchandising concepts to fuel incremental sales
- Develop specific acquisition and engagement plans including strategic briefs as well as measurement
- Anticipate potential challenges and build effective contingency plans to protect customer experience and business results
What you'll need:
- BA/BS Accounting, Finance, Business, or related degree required
- Deep understanding of retail (e-commerce is a plus)
- 10+ years of relevant experience in sales, buying, account management, consulting and/or marketing
- Experience with lifecycle marketing in a digital business
- Strategic thinker with a bias for action
- Comfort level in pushing the limits
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; strong writing and speaking skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization, planning and time management
- Proven analytical skills – ability to analyze large data sets to make strategic decisions
- Experience with financial analysis and modeling
- Extensive experience leading teams & cross-functional projects
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in both early stage and corporate environments
