The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Finance Strategic Delivery and Engagement (SDE), the CFO Business Planning & Execution Innovation Lead will act as an internal consultant, project leader, communicator and change manager on the exciting journey to build the finance function of tomorrow. You will have a unique opportunity to seamlessly move from planning to execution by innovating, collaborating, designing, inspiring and communicating key strategies and initiatives.

This position will partner closely with core members of the Corporate Finance Senior Leadership Team to drive efficient and effective design and architecture across the CFO portfolio of strategic initiatives, helping to identify process improvements, align goals, and set priorities.

The Team

The Strategic Delivery and Engagement team is a diverse group of strategic program managers that have a variety of experiences making connections, thinking across, working up and down a dynamic organization and infusing outside-in thinking to achieve results. We are intellectually curious, driven by challenge, and thrive in fast-paced, high change environments. Our goal is to collaborate effectively with corporate finance leaders to identify, prioritize and successfully execute in alignment with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

Strategy

  • Contribute to and lead elements of the CFO strategic planning design and process.
  • Partner with SLT members to understand their vision, goals and priorities in alignment with CFO strategy through common process and approaches.
  • Design strategic connectivity to enterprise goals and objectives.
  • Ensure connectedness of execution back to strategy and through to communications.

Program Management

  • Lead the build, progression and monitoring of project plans in alignment with goals.
  • Ensure alignment among internal and/or external stakeholders on goals, approach and milestones.
  • Lead and build centers of excellence with initiative owners and other program managers to break down siloes and ensure best practices are shared across.
  • Monitor and flag issues and interdependencies and suggest opportunities for resolution/path forward proactively, promptly and tactfully.
  • Prepare regular communications to key stakeholders and executive management on project progress, status and challenges.
  • Ensure consistency throughout all touchpoints and alignment with defined objectives.
  • Facilitate post-execution monitoring of projects and consistently share lessons learned from project sprints and phasing.
  • Develop governance frameworks to drive clear, transparent and efficient decision making.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years of business experience with a minimum of 3 years in a program management and delivery capacity
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and superior organizational skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive yet disciplined and discriminating to streamline work to achieve goals in midst of daily re-prioritizing. Agility and resilience a must.
  • High degree of integrity and self-awareness.
  • Creative in approach to problem solving, have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically, enjoy managing multiple projects simultaneously and handle difficult situations.
  • An understanding of corporate finance, life insurance and/or asset management industries preferred.
  • Experience with scorecards, metrics and dashboards.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated decisive decision making.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels within the organization
  • Action orientated with an innovative approach to operational management; willing to volunteer and lean in at times.
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Track record of building partnerships and alliances across the enterprise.

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Focus on the people side of change derived from changes made to business processes, policies, systems, technology, roles and responsibilities and organizational structure.
  • Provide tailor/develop and implement management expertise and tools, such as a Change Plan, Change Impact Assessment and Change Narrative.
  • Analyze the current operating environment; understand the issues and structures
  • Engage and consult with individuals and teams of all levels throughout the organization to support the effective design of teams and functions.
  • Designs, develops, delivers and evaluates programs and frameworks that improve our employee experience, engagement and our effectiveness as an organization.
  • Identify, design and implement programs to address organizational gaps
  • Provide expert technical guidance and act as an internal consultant / trusted advisor
  • Experience with planning larger-scale organizational change management processes with hands-on delivery to shift mindset, behaviors, and achieve results.
  • Advanced understanding of organization design, talent management and change management best practices, tools and methods – demonstrating a solid understanding of how people go through change
  • Big picture thinking to analyze, review and recommend organizational improvements with ability to influence decisions and outcomes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills adaptable to a variety of audiences
  • Management consulting experience highly desirable
