Associate Revenue Accountant

The Associate Revenue Accountant will be a key player in our growing Revenue Operations team. Responsibilities of this position include assisting with recording, testing, and analyzing revenue and confirming that revenue meets the basic requirements for revenue recognition. The candidate must be able to work on cross functional teams and have strong written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail is a must.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and verify software revenue is accurately and timely recorded according to relevant GAAP requirements.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for revenue and related entries.
• Analyze and reconcile revenue-related and direct cost of revenue accounts (e.g., revenue, deferred revenue, accrued revenue, accounts receivable, etc.)
• Participate in the financial statement close process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations or other analysis, as requested.
• Review Professional Services engagements and ensure accuracy of set up in the NetSuite system. Work with the Professional Services organization on various inquiries/issues related to revenue recognition.
• Analyze revenue allocations on sales orders on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Assist with customer billings and order management, as needed.
• Assist in various initiatives such as system improvements, international expansion and other strategic projects as needed by Management.

Qualifications

• BA/ BS in Accounting or Finance degree from 4 year college or university
• Up to 2 years of experience working with GAAP revenue ASC 606 a plus
• Experience in software or tech public company a plus
• Excellent analytical skills
• Netsuite experience a plus
• Advanced Excel skills
• A solutions-oriented team player who enjoys a dynamic work environment
• Strong organizational skills, concise documentation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
