Job Summary
This position is responsible for conducting financial analysis for assigned business areas, including budgeting aspects of the Main Street Lending Program Operations organization and Capital Support for the FedNow Program, as well as supporting Bankwide strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting (expense and capital), and monitoring and reporting on operational and strategic performance. This position will partner with business leaders by providing financial and business guidance supported by data and analytics. The role will be responsible for developing annual and multi-year budgets and forecasts while ensuring compliance with Federal Reserve financial and cost accounting requirements. The role will act as a trusted financial partner to stakeholders. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and requires excellent communication skills, flexibility and versatility.
Principal Accountabilities
· Conducts complex financial analysis on a variety of topics with minimal guidance. Prepares variance explanations and cost benefit analysis.
· Participates in the development of Bank-wide operating and capital budgets. Reviews business plans and budgets for assigned areas. Provides consultative and analytical support for assigned areas. Summarizes key issues and collaborates with business areas to resolve them.
· Drafts sections of the Plan and Budget document for management, Board of Governors, and Board of Directors.
· Participates on Bankwide cross-functional and/or System workgroups.
· Provides high-level support, including the writing of correspondence, to senior management on a variety of tasks.
· Prepares financial and business related analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, and depreciation.
· Advises business areas in developing forecasts.
· Provide consultative finance and support to management and advise business areas and others when interpreting financial management policies or implement new programs.
· Reviews financial data to ensure compliance with cost accounting rules. Interprets cost accounting rules and determines the impact of accounting changes.
· Leads or contributes to special studies in areas such as the organization's operational effectiveness, operating cost containment, industry benchmarking, etc.
· Participates in the monthly processing of actual expenses. Institutes financial controls, ensures appropriate documentation, and assesses accuracy of data.
· Analyzes and reports on historical and projected performance trends. Drafts performance narratives for management.
· Provides functional advice or training to less experienced analysts.
Supervision
This position is not required to directly supervise others.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of job-related experience.
