We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Accounting team. The successful candidate will assist with accounts payable, preparation of all financial reporting, preparation of monthly and annual closings, and support the finance team and other business functions. We seek an organized and highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude, strong analytical skills and a good understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Major Responsibilities/Activities:  

  • Process payables including weekly check runs and electronic payment transmission, and prepare financial statements.
  • Maintain vendor filing system and assist with organization of year-end activities.
  • Assist with monthly financial close activities including maintenance of the General Ledger, inter-company account reconciliation, analysis of account variances, and completion of monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assist with expense report processing.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting packages, taking advantage of opportunities to enhance usefulness and efficiency.
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Perform other accounting duties and analysis as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of related accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analysis and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principles.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities – flexibility, teamwork, collaborative work style and a positive attitude.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong track record of accurate and timely financial accounting.
  • Ability to work independently; self-motivated; high bias for action.
  • ERP system experience.
