Accounting Manager

As Accounting Manager, you will join our Accounting team and report directly to the Controller. You will be primarily responsible for overseeing the operations of the company’s portfolio of sales-based financing assets. In addition, you will close the books for our portfolio which are then consolidated into Forward Financing’s overall financial statements. You will manage an existing team of three direct reports and will have the opportunity to further build out the team as time progresses. This role offers remote flexibility 3 days per week.
In this role you will:
- Manage a team responsible for:
- The review and release of daily funding to small and medium sized business (SMB) customers
- Reconciling internal applications to ensure total funding agrees to Salesforce
- Identification and application of manual cash payments
- Investigation of discrepancies in payment amounts and rejections
- Supervise partner finance operations which includes the calculation of monthly activity bonuses to partners, review of commission payments owed and received and maintenance of partner syndications.
- Prepare and close the books, on a monthly basis, for a subsidiary of Forward Financing that holds our portfolio.
- Prepare compliance and covenant requirements under Lender debt agreements.
- Provide support to internal teams such as Account Servicing and Sales as needed.
- Monitor working capital needs, assist on audit related matters, perform ad-hoc financial analysis and assist in creating and maintaining group policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead efforts to increase the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of the team.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
- CPA a plus, but not required
- 5+ years of accounting experience including a minimum of 1 year of management experience, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus, but not required
- Ability to reconcile and analyze a high volume of data
- Customer service oriented approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
