Thrasio is looking for an experienced, hands-on International Accounting Manager. The International Accounting Manager will be responsible for the Company's international entities with primary responsibility for foreign statutory reporting and compliance. The position includes managing relationships with local service providers located in various countries around the globe and applying local and US GAAP accounting principles to prepare accurate and timely statutory reporting and related analyses, along with supervision and review. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-growing e-commerce organization with global operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review all monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis for all international entities
• Audit seller’s balance sheets and review PPA entries for international acquisitions
• Assist in corporate quarterly and annual auditors’ reviews with regards to international reporting, provide reconciliation support to help facilitate an optimal audit process and assist with international regulatory compliance
• Manage a team of individual contributors and external third party accountants
• Review statutory financial reports and accounts, and work with local entities to bridge statutory financial and tax books to U.S. GAAP
• Reconcile inter-company balances and ensure inter-company agreement terms and settlements are paid accurately
• Partner with the Tax team in reviewing and booking transfer pricing journal entries, ensuring the corporate departmental structure correctly aligns to the inter-company tax agreements while maintaining proper supporting documentation for local country tax refunds/credits
• Prepare, maintain and reconcile monthly foreign exchange transactions and related gains/losses
• Provide updates and analyses for all international entities during monthly close meeting, and local entity board meetings
• Research international accounting guidance, assess ASC 830 requirements and develop policies and procedures that are aligned to GAAP guidance
• Ensure that appropriate internal controls over operations and financial reporting are in place to reduce risk and secure corporate assets
• Develop working relationship to collaborate with Accounts Payable, Tax and Treasury to meet day-to-day operational needs and long-term strategic initiative milestones
• Maximize operational efficiencies, design and build processes with Payments and Business Process Engineering and fully leverage Netsuite Inter-company modules and sub ledgers

What you bring to the party

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA required
• 7+ years of experience in accounting: preferably a mix of financial audit in a big 4/national public accounting firm and corporate accounting experience in a multi-country/currency environment.
• Hands-on Experience with general ledger function and the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and analysesis
• E-commerce or manufacturing related experience is preferred
• Experience in Netsuite strongly preferred
• Ability to effectively work across teams and levels, both within the accounting functions, and across functions, including tax, legal, operations and senior leadership
• Ability to analyze financial statements/schedules and write commentary to explain results/variances in a concise and clear manner
• Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills, ability to link information together, and solution oriented individual
• Ability to identify areas for efficiency improvements and create change where necessary
• Must be adaptable, able to multi-task and take on additional responsibilities as necessary
• Possesses energy, enthusiasm to drive results; action oriented
