Accounting Clerk

We are seeking an organized, efficient, and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk/Junior Buyer to join our team. The role will offer a wide range of responsibilities and the opportunity to learn more about the financial operations of a venture backed start up.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains financial records for company by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts
- Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information
- Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects
- Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries
- Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling accounts payable ledger; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals
- Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures
- Process requisitions to creates purchase orders and maintains purchase order data base
- Responsible for the correct cost of inventory and tracks inventory at CMO locations
- Arranges transport of goods and tracks orders to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinates with CMO, vendors, and management as required
- Works in the office 3 days a week with appropriate PPE and distancing
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in accounting or a minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- General math skills and demonstrates strong accounting abilities
- Ability to respect and meet deadlines
- Reporting skills
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Agreement to confidentiality
This position will report to the Director of Finance and work closely with the Operations Department.
