Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a HighJump Developer to join our WMS Team in Boston, MA. Chewy’s Warehouse Management System team is focused on building, scaling, and maintaining the software necessary to run our Fulfillment Centers (FCs).  At Chewy our focus is always on our customer, and the WMS team is no exception.  The WMS team delivers functionality that enables our FCs to provide world class customer experience, such as the ability to ship an order within an hour of it being placed.  The WMS at Chewy supports a complex Fulfillment Network (everything from non-perishable to cold chain), with thousands of users working 24/7/365, and as such the team has a massive focus on performance and scalability, finding new approaches to old problems that allow us to optimize for continued scale while providing Five Nines reliability.

As a Developer on the WMS team you will be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling Chewy’s WMS capabilities – developing on HighJump’s Warehouse Advantage platform and MS SQL Server, as well as supplementing the HighJump ecosystem with other platforms such as Splunk.  You will work on everything from SQL performance tuning to creating completely new FC workflows.  The ideal candidate will have a few years of development experience and sound knowledge of business processes that include finance, supply chain, and fulfillment.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain implementations of Page Editor, Advantage Architect workflows and SQL Server stored procedures
  • Develop performant, scalable, and secure software solutions that meet business requirements
  • Document code customization in compliance with established standards and practices
  • Manage deadlines by balancing deliverables from multiple projects, production support, and system administration tasks
  • Perform upgrades and migrations of the enterprise applications
  • Partner with DBAs, Infrastructure Engineers, and DevOps to monitor, tune, and improve system performance
  • Resolve issues impacting our business teams
  • Provide training to Business Analysts/Subject Matter Experts as needed
  • Suggest / Define test cases for solutions, and assist QA Analysts as needed

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (MIS or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL / Oracle / PostgreSQL
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment and deliver quality results on time
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel on occasion

Bonus:

  • Previous experience with HighJump
  • Experience with Supply Chain Execution software
  • 3+ years of development experience with enterprise applications
  • 3+ years of T-SQL experience
  • 3+ years of .NET Web Services, and Message Queueing experience
