The Virtualization Engineer will work closely with a team of engineers covering Networking, Storage Technologies, Virtualization Technologies, Windows Systems Engineering, and Linux Systems Engineering. The Virtualization Engineer will provide operational support to the team as well as execute on projects which help further our operational efficiencies.
What You’ll Do
Provide support for the Virtual Infrastructures (VI) including server and storage platforms using both on-premises and various cloud technologies
Provide support for and assist in the buildout of Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (VDI)
Conduct research and provide all levels of support for issues pertaining to VI
Tune and optimize VI environment for performance and scaling as needed
Interact with vendor(s) for problem resolution
Data Center operations as needed
Provide support to VMware Workstation user community
Occasional exceptional hours as needed during critical project milestones or release cycles
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience required
A minimum of 1-3 years of Virtualization experience working on increasingly complex projects
Experience maintaining vSphere 6.x
Understanding of VMware Horizon and vRealize Automation use-cases
Familiarity with iSCSI storage systems
Familiarity with Agile Framework (Scrum/Kanban)
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects by effective prioritization and communication
Excitement and passion for technology with a strong focus on customer service
Bonus Points for
VMware Certified Professional (Datacenter or Cloud)
AWS or Microsoft Azure experience
Certified Scrum Master
