ABOUT THE ROLE

Teikametrics is looking for a VP of Engineering to join our incredible and growing global Engineering team. As a part of the team, you’ll work closely with some of the most amazing talent in the tech industry, partnering with our product and development teams, and collaborating closely with other key stakeholders across the organization. 

As the VP of Engineering, you will be a foundational part of the team that supports the rapid growth of the Company; both organically and through acquisition. You will guide the growth of the team and its members, champion its interests, and ensure they align with the company’s broader goals. You will have an immediate impact as Teikametrics looks to more than double team size over the next several quarters. The ideal candidate has proven experience defining career paths, championing collaboration between Engineering and Product, organizing and aligning teams, and streamlining product development using sound engineering practices. This role will report into the Chief Product Officer and work closely with the other members of the Company’s Senior Management team and Product team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grow, organize, and manage a globally distributed engineering team seeking to more than double in size over the next several quarters
• Provide empathetic leadership and team-building, ensuring every engineer works in an environment that nurtures continued growth and success, including clearly defined metrics and effective team alignment
• Foster the design, execution, and technical excellence required to scale Teikametrics' Optimization Platform to support thousands of customers across multiple marketplaces around the world; expanding our data pipelines to multiple major marketplaces including Amazon, Walmart, Facebook, Instagram, eBay, Google Shopify, etc
• Ensure communication and collaboration between Engineering, Product, and other departments is seamless and effective
• Mentor Director-level engineers in management, budgeting, and organization-scale decision-making
• Maintain budgets and projections for compute and storage resources, and provide scaling estimates along relevant dimensions to the rest of the business

QUALIFIED CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• 10 - 15+ years of experience in building SaaS applications and successfully leading engineering teams in petabyte-scale environments (eCommerce, consumer retail, or financial industries experience is a plus)
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, at the executive level, with peers, and with cross-functional teams. Concisely articulates technical concepts to non-technical audiences, particularly to senior leadership and investors
• Consistently leads with empathy, which is at the core of Teikametrics’ values, taking ultimate responsibility for technical outcomes while holding the team to expected standards
• Prior experience scaling an engineering organization from dozens of engineers through 100+ in a geographically distributed organization, recruiting world-class engineering talent
• Proven record of successful change through the use of many incremental deliverables, using techniques such as sprints, Shape Up, or similar agile methodologies
• Familiarity with the security and privacy issues inherent in eCommerce
• Passion for sellers and eCommerce
• Experience managing Data Science teams as platform clients is a plus
