We are looking for an experienced Tooling Process Engineer to collaborate and create tooling for the most advanced desktop 3D printer in the world. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on Formlabs products and leave a footprint for years to come. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the for producing cutting edge molded parts using a wide variety of materials.

The Job:
- Provide technical support to Mechanical Design Engineers for the creation and implementation of new molded and machined parts
- Apply engineering principles and practices specifically related to the design, fabrication and operation of injection molds
- Support the CAD designers regarding tool feasibility and cost effects on production
- Lead mold design reviews and approve mold suppliers’ final mold design
- Actively engage in troubleshooting issues with molding vendors
- Collaborate with external toolmakers globally
- Ensure mold suppliers’ adherence to established mold standard and create QC standards
You:
- Extensive background in designing mold tooling for plastic and metal parts
- Advanced understanding of CNC milling and turning processes
- Disciplined in GD&T practices with close attention to datum establishment and tolerance analysis
- Experienced in providing and implementing DFM feedback to diverse team of engineers
- Mold flow simulation software experience
Bonus:
- Experience supporting new product launches from a mechanical tooling engineering or product development perspective.
- Prior Experience with sheet metal tooling and fabrication
