Test and Reliability Engineer
We are looking for a Test and Reliability Engineer to help us verify innovative system hardware systems for our security products. The ideal candidate has previous experience testing hardware and embedded systems involving wireless, radio, security, networking, and power supply technologies. In this role, you will verify hardware architectures on all phases of design, board bring-up, DVT, FMEA, and product compliance (FCC emissions, FCC radio regulatory, safety, UL, and environmental). You will support manufacturing and field teams and should be familiar with reliability tracking and electrical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform reliability testing including electro-mechanical stress tests, safety, shock, vibration and environmental testing
- Prepare concise and detailed test plans and reports
- Conduct failure analysis using analytical techniques and methodology to derive root cause
- Work with design engineers in the development and implementation of the risk analysis process
- Be part of a cross functional team executing FMEA for design, process and maintenance
- Develop verification test plans with design engineers based on system and sub-system specs and possess the knowledge of system architecture and industry standard protocols
- Design, build and run specialized test equipment as required to test unique electrical operating circuits with an emphasis to obtain results with rapid design cycles
- Based on knowledge of UL and CE standards, guide cross-functional design team to improve system design accordingly
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to complete challenging multi-system engineering projects
- Understanding and use of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- 5+ years' experience in the verification of electrical hardware, PCBA's and cable assemblies
- Data Analysis and reporting capabilities (Matlab, Weibull++, JMP, etc.)
- Ability to set up and automate a variety of repetitive testing operations
- Experience working in a dynamic engineering environment, where systems and processes are changing rapidly
- Strong understanding of electrical system concepts and components
- Experience in compliance testing (UL, IEC, etc.), a plus
- Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, a plus
