Temporary Chemical Lab Technician

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Lab Technician to participate in our hardware development process for 6-9 months. The ideal candidate will have experience working in chemical laboratories in a fast paced startup environment.
The Temporary Lab Technician will be responsible for:
Formulating samples based on recipes and test plans
Blending mixtures into slurries and pastes
Characterizing fluids with rheometers, viscometers, goniometers, pH meters, and other equipment
Logging data on samples, environmental conditions, and test results into database or run sheets.
Reporting information up to Senior Chemists
Running material strength tests
Performing aging and heat/cool stress testing on samples
Operating inkjet printing test fixtures
Abiding by all company, state, and federal EH&S requirements
Utilizing PPE including respiratory PPE to work with chemical and metal powders
Preferred Experience:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, biochemistry or 4 years experience working in a chemical laboratory environment.
Generating chemical mixtures in the laboratory according to formulations and procedures developed by senior chemical engineers and maintain meticulous batch records and observations.
Characterize physical properties of chemical solutions such as pH, viscosity, surface tension and other functional tests according to written test procedures as well as maintain accurate test records.
Organize/analyze data and communicate experimental conclusions to the team in oral and/or written form.
Contribute intellectually to the team by sharing ideas for product and process improvements.
Maintain clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety and chemical hygiene policies including maintaining chemical inventory records and ordering materials.
Work well in a highly collaborative team structure with rapidly shifting priorities.
Proficiency in Google Doc, Sheets & Slides or Microsoft equivalent.
