The Global Platform team is focused on making TripAdvisor the #1 travel website and application in all of our global markets. This team is part of the Core Experience business unit which aims to make TripAdvisor a central part of our users’ travel journeys.

Examples of the team’s recent work:

• Integrated with the Google Neural Machine Translation system to translate 100 million pieces of user generated content into 27 languages.
• Launched a Shopping Tourism MVP for English, Japanese, and Chinese markets which we are now building into a profitable business line.
• Defined more than 5,000 neighborhoods across 50 major cities worldwide to enable travelers to explore more of what these destinations have to offer.

We aim to significantly grow this team in 2019 and so are looking for a Technical Lead to partner with the Software Development Manager and build a fast-paced, top-notch development team.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Provide technical leadership to the team and mentor junior software developers
• Influence how the organization works to better serve global markets
• Partner with product managers, designers, analysts, and country managers
• Help to instill a team culture of fast-paced, quality software development

We expect candidates to:

This team covers a wide range of markets and technologies so there is plenty of opportunity to make an impact and pick up new skills. More specifically, you will have the opportunity to work with Java, Microservices, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, React Web Components, iOS, Android, and GraphQL.
