As the Technical Lead of the Core App Experience team, you will be responsible for leading a team of mobile engineers to create a high-quality and consistent app experience and architecture. Technical Leads at WHOOP are “player-coaches”, and we are looking for someone who is as passionate about crafting high quality code as they are about helping other engineers level-up.

Our iOS and Android apps are entirely written using native app technology and incorporate the latest technologies. The apps feature rich user interfaces and data visualizations, providing highly actionable and relevant information to WHOOP members, helping them maximize their performance every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work collaboratively in a high growth environment with a product, design, and technical vision
• Contribute to our iOS and/or Android native mobile apps, with the opportunity to set best practices and increase usability for users and developers alike
• Communicate effectively with immediate and external team members
• Drive cross team projects to completion working with other mobile and backend engineers
• Work closely with design to establish a consistent, functional, and beautiful visual language
• Present solutions and frameworks for the betterment of the team to other software teams

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in building, testing, debugging, and delivering iOS and/or Android apps in a professional environment
• Experience leading a team of like-minded high-performing engineers
• Experience with iOS and/or Android user interface technologies
• Expertise in Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android); working knowledge of Objective-C (iOS) and Java (Android) is a plus
• Experience developing libraries, frameworks, and tooling to be used by other developers
• Excellent knowledge of platform-specific tools (iOS: Xcode, Fastlane, CocoaPods; Android: Android Studio, gradle)
• Experience communicating with a RESTful backend
• Product minded engineer with empathy for the customer experience
• Willingness to learn and grow rapidly across iOS/Android and external systems
