About Optimus Ride

Optimus Ride is a self-driving technology company working to enable safe, sustainable, and equitable mobility solutions. We aim to transform cities and lead the way for a more sustainable future through the introduction of self-driving technologies.

Optimus Ride is based in the Boston Seaport District. Our team hails from a diverse set of backgrounds, and cumulatively has decades of experience building self-driving vehicles, electric vehicles, manufacturing robots, surgical robots, autonomous drones, and more. We aim for a highly collaborative, hands-on, and open environment where peers learn from each other while building technologies for real-world environments.

The Role

We are looking for a system administrator to help build the systems and infrastructure to support our vehicles and software. You will be responsible for the design, installation, and operation of highly available and secure computing platforms, servers, workstations, and networks.

Our team is focused on a rapid path to market, in order to maximize the benefits of self-driving technologies for all. To do this, we need our engineers to be versatile, have leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling problems across the full range of our systems. Working at Optimus Ride you will innovate with engineers and designers who cumulatively have decades of experience in computer vision, machine learning, sensing and actuation, human-machine interface, and design. You will be creating new technologies through software development that integrates your areas of expertise to enable self-driving systems to be possible today.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain server (primarily Linux) and application software and hardware
  • Automate server setup using Ansible and other automation tools
  • Deploy and operate network infrastructure
  • Support corporate and engineering infrastructure, user accounts, and workstations
  • Support applications and infrastructure deployed to on-vehicle, cloud, and on-premise environments
  • Design and implement security best-practices

Requirements

  • Deep expertise with Linux administration, system administration, and network administration
  • Proficient in shell scripting and Python
  • Experience with virtualization, containers and cloud services
  • Experience with infrastructure and software development tools like Git, Ansible, Jenkins
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest and ability to learn additional skills and technologies as required

Bonus

  • Experience administering VPN, LDAP, and Kerberos
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, Virtualbox, and Vagrant
  • Experience managing virtualization infrastructure (VMWare, XenServer etc)
  • Experience with Windows and OS/X administration
  • Experience implementing data storage and processing systems (e.g., AWS, Hadoop, SQL)
  • Performance analysis and optimization
