Sustaining Engineer

We are looking for a Sustaining Engineer to help build our support organization to drive customer success at all levels. This individual will report into our software development team. This person’s primary responsibility will be to collaborate with our support organization, debugging customer-found problems. We are considering candidates with a wide range of experience, and will level the position based on the experience of the individual we hire.
The ideal candidate will be from the New England region, allowing for infrequent visits to the RightHand Robotics office.

You will:
- Triage, and perform root cause analysis of customer-found issues
- Partner closely with the Customer Support team
- Collaborate cross functionally with the engineering and deployment teams
- Provide engineering support, as needed, during the rollout of customer deployments
- Design and implement tools to aid in debugging customer-found issues
- Establish best practices for the sustaining engineering function
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Required skills/experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or local equivalent of same
- Experience with Linux
- Experience in a customer / technical support organization
- Experience with ticketing systems to track your (and others) work (JIRA ServiceDesk, Zendesk or similar)
- Experience in triaging and troubleshooting technical problems
- Experience reading & writing software code (any language)
- Exceptional communication skills
- Software and hardware troubleshooting experience
- Understanding of the software development process and support lifecycle
Bonus:
